Ocean Poem by Stephen Bennett The Playjurist

Ocean

Rating: 5.0

If you could make
say
an ocean,
you would. Wouldn't you
make one
say
a better one, a better ocean
than any other of the ones that you
or we: we and other people
have known as real,
in the largest areas of the visible,
water, before the eye cast off
any shore, side standers
from whatever viewing point... out
into a grand hugeness of a person
say, your own size
and a struck dumb mind
and beyond the beyond
of all of the limits
one might either imagine or see
from land, if you could
say
yourself make an ocean, you couldn't
show it, but you could think
it up, you know...
like you and I are doing,
and talk about it,
say
like now. Right? And if
an ocean could make
say
a thinking mind thinking
everywhere and anywhere
the thinking is
getting
into trouble
