Obu - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Obu - Lincoln Park Zoo

Newborn at the Lincoln Park Zoo,
First Japan macaque snow monkey,
I am a boy, I am Obu,
The name you humans voted me.
Born early May, twenty fifteen,
I've been staying real close to Mom.
She's been showing me the Zoo scene.
From newborn jitters, I'm more calm,
And getting more curious 'bout
All my world in my habitat,
And all you humans watching out -
Swinging place for this acrobat.

Come to the Zoo, come to enjoy,
Seeing Obu, saying, 'Oh boy! '
