Nothing Has Changed Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Nothing Has Changed

Rating: 5.0

Nothing has changed with us
Treachery, lies, deception and mistrust
We experience daily and disregard
Its existence and look forward

It is not easy to forget but we allow
Try to forget easily and swallow
Some sort of tolerance in daily dealing
Some of the wounds are difficult to heal

Little progress science has made
Otherwise we use same plough and spade
Land is same and so is the crop
Rain also shower dropp by dropp

Parents show same kind of love
Bring their children up to the level to prove
Same zeal and same spirit with no let up
Wish bright career for children and expect golden cup

What has changed then except we lament scenario?
We compare old customs and angrily blow
"What nonsense is taking place today"?
No traditions, no values and everything is forgotten away

Kings have gone but left behind legacy and traditions
Son has taken over reign and maintained good relation
Some of them had rebelled and turned into bloody war
So the history says peace was never in force and dream very far

We are civilized world in literary terms
We talk and preach differently in turn
Take everybody by storm when really exposed
What was our life was meant and supposed to be?

Sun, stars and sky all are above us
We are helpless and have to look at them thus
Nothing will change except if we desire
Some thing new may come after being destroyed by fire
