Not Even The Black Horizons Poem by Obed dela Cruz

Not Even The Black Horizons

Not even the black horizons of stormy skies
Can ever cover the light I see in the day,
For the glows and sparkles will never see demise
And shall never be just a thought from yesterday.

After every storm is a fruit from every tree
And a land that is softened by the drops of rain
Though before these is a time for recovery
For us to understand that storms come not in vain.

Lightning may strike as the trumpets of thunders roar
But if we know what awaits after the event,
We cannot be stricken down to our deepest core
For we shall stand like a tree that cannot be bent.

Not even the black horizons of stormy skies
Can remove the great joys shared and seen through our eyes.

(I REALLY HOPE THIS IS NOT A GOODBYE TO ALL OF YOU. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO WRITE SOME NEW POEMS IN THE PAST FEW DAYS AND I FEEL I HAVE NOTHING MORE TO WRITE.

I HAVE WRITTEN AND ERASED A LOT OF LINES... SEEMS LIKE IT IS DIFFICULT TO WRITE ANOTHER POEM AFTER THIS...

BUT I WILL KEEP ON READING YOUR POEMS.

MAYBE THIS SITUATION IN MY LIFE WILL LEAD TO A BETTER PRODUCT IN THE FUTURE. MAYBE NEXT TIME I WRITE, I WILL WRITE POETRY IN A BETTER WAY.

THANKS!

But I hope the message of this poem is well-imparted... thanks again!)
