Not An Image Poem by Soumita Sarkar

Not An Image

When you are not close
Bewitched eyes see you dear
When I sleep or nearly doze
I can feel your soft care

For you are more than image
That slips and spreads far
In the lonely sand a mirage
That I search as only nectar

You are a dream unfulfilled
By the conventions I obey
You are a melody not mild
That shares and holds stray

You grounded me with joy
I felt elated at instance
Leaving behind my silly coy
Longing for your long presence

All I can offer is your's
Some limits bound me here
Your loss I surely fear
Yet I stand alone my dear!
