Not All Dreams Come True. Poem by MOHAMMAD SKATI

Not All Dreams Come True.

Not all dreams are true, but
On the contrary
Most of them are untrue
Simply because they evaporate
When they are compared with
Our real life,
Dreams are pretty
Only when they come true
Or they are merely shadows,
We unconsciously dream about
A lot of things
That are scattered
Here or there,
We only dream about
Changing our whole life, but
Instead we find ourselves
In the tunnel of darkness
Of our whole life regretfully,
We keep dreaming and dreaming, but
All of our dreams come hopeless
And even in vain,
We dream to see another world
That is different from
Our current world, but
Instead we get
A lot of ugly hurdles
Scattered here or there and
A lot of hard stumbling-blocks
In our ways,
Our current dreams turn into nightmares
Simply because that's the way
With them anywhere and
Even everywhere,
Our dreams are greatly hard
To come true
For thousands of reasons,
The lovely days of our true dreams
Have vanished for ever and ever
Simply because they are no more at all,
We only have ongoing nightmares that
They keep coming as normal alternatives
To our pretty dreams,
Our pretty dreams have gone away
For ever and ever.
