Nonewhatsoever Poem by Kai Ford

Nonewhatsoever

The scared look in your eyes gives to an awareness uncontemplated
You DO know her
My heart crumbles as I plead for you to confess your love for no one but me
All while the truth heads like a teenager's pimple
I await you to reveal the invisible mistress

Who is she and why her?
Is it because her hair is curly like your 1st love who crushed your heart?
Is it because she praised you like a foreign god?
Perhaps it's because she filled a void that you evicted me from
In any case, reveal the factuals of the girl you downgraded for

Denial seeps from your lips like sugary sweet organic syrup
Your deceit is so natural. no preservatives, created from years of cultivation
of homegrown California sun & little secrets kept from your mommy
The embarrassment and surprise are neatly written on your once handsomed face
The same face that uttered the words 'I love you' incessantly the last 3 months

How easily our sins beset us sir Smith
A little attention from a random girl sets your sex ablaze
And your relationship w/me into the land of ruins
You willingly set our love on the back burner all while playing house w/your beloved
What was it about this invisible mistress that made you deny knowledge of your Father?

What was offered in this negotiation that I didn't give you?
I'm certain I gave my all within the last 4 odd years of knowing you
She offered no-strings-attached sex & a possible std
Whilst I offered home-cooked meals, support and eventually your seed in my womb
All things you claimed you wanted w/me but you terminated the contract and found another buyer
One who knew nothing about you Svengali counterpart brought out by selfish insecurity

The lies have been exposed and so has your dark heart
No true apology given only scurried ways to cover your tracks
Eye contact is soon diverted, your full lips normally greased w/Cherry Chapstick are now greased w/shame and silence
Your sorrow is only that you got caught
Alas, your double life has been revealed at my workplace

I never wanted the title w/out the weight of the word
Take me off your arm because I'm not a show piece of what you can attain
For the laws of reciprocation have been established way before your first hello to the mistress so I'm certain time will repay your debt
And time will make me laugh at you, clown
But for now I'm angry, tired and hurt

I wake up the next morning to realize...I don't know you...nonewhatsoever
