Hello My Name Is... Poem by Kai Ford

Hello My Name Is...

12: 40am 11/25
This feeling has a name
One that forms on the tip of my tongue
But the muzzle of hope prevents me from uttering the letters

This feeling has a name
One that fills me with warm wrath
So familiar like an old friends hug or an ex lovers kiss

This feeling has a name
One that my soul reluctantly welcomes
After hours upon days of denial

This feeling has a name
One that's synonymous with a spelling
But I'm in cohorts with your wall of lies and trickery

The feeling has your name...

Trashed memories of what was
haunts me worse than what is
Disposable words tear thru my flesh
To reveal an exposed heart
Once pristine and unaffected
By the possibility of an alternate outcome
Now worn from the prospect of new heights
Yet informed of the grim reality
Of a shiftless being
This poor sight of a heart, beats slowly, firmly, repeatedly
