No Greater Love Than This! Poem by Denis Martindale

Each man who ever fell in love
Could promise anything,
Go out and buy her fancy stuff,
Or even buy a ring...
Compose a poem or a song,
Or write a book or two,
With hopes that there could be no wrong
In saying, 'I LOVE YOU! '
Perhaps to fight within a war,
When others seek to hurt,
Perhaps to sacrifice much more,
To die and not desert...
Yet God sent Jesus as His Son
To die upon His cross
And God remembers what was done,
So we gained from His loss...
Saint Valentine's could not compare,
With all its love and bliss,
In answer to the Sinner's Prayer,
No greater love than this...
