No Escape Poem by Colin Burger

No Escape

Thoughts race through my mind
There’s no escape
Does she like me, am I kind
Who knows what’s at stake
Though she isn’t here
She follows me everywhere
Contemplating my every move
I fall into a pit of despair
She stares at me blankly
The day I drove by
Not much was said
Just “I Love You” “Goodbye”
Thoughts race through my mind
What happened, it’s a miss
Can anyone really help me
Was it sealed with a kiss
