No Birds Around Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

No Birds Around

I am like bird in cage
Wants to sing in rage
Fill the air with sadness
But refuse to surrender to any kind of madness

I feel no birds around
Their presence is not found
The trees have been long back cut
So no new nests have been built

We feel bad at being uprooted
Or property being looted
But raise no revolt inside heart
When we witness birds to depart

Many are on verge of extinction
There is no addition in their population
The lovely birds no more belong to us
Where is love for nature and trust?

We need to develop kind eye
And try
We need not compromise on natural environment
If so, then one day, it will make us extinct

No Birds Around
