Nix Mangiari Steps Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Nix Mangiari Steps

A step
After step
Granite and yet
Old
And
Sighing
And
Sighing
When
Nights wax cold
Or
Summer gets hot
When
The houses a-dream
When the seas
Down below
Are a-rife with
The sounds of high waves
That abound.
And then the rustling
Tunica of who
Pace after pace
In the midst of the night
When night be so deep
Pace after pace
Goes down step after step.
