Night Poem by Marianne Soher

Night

Rating: 4.0

And things lurking in the dark
Away from my body eyes
Are my friends because I know

Night
And the path I trod in silence
With a sound and firm intent
Is my friend because I know,

Night
At the heart of my wide space
Sounds and waves felt but not heard
Are my friends because I know.

Night
By myself in the nowhere
Surrounded by unseen friends
I’m not scared because I know

Night
Night is both my friend and foe
At my choice and at my will
I see better without eyes
I hear all and can devise
Every particle of joy
And use my life like a toy
And all this because I know!
