New York Poem by Samuel Santana

New York

I've been in a city where
time is eternal.
It has its walls painted
with verses and the wind crosses caressing
the scent of the flowers.
I have seen the trees
singing to the silence.
There are crystal fountains fighting
against oblivion like fierce warriors.
The statues of the old heroes
decided to burn down their ancient wars.
Walking very quickly,
and clothed with the colors of nations,
a lady came to the square always cheerful.
She was trying to find the drummer
of her dreams.
It is beautiful the heat of bonfires
in winter.
And the torch, imperious and blazing,
said hello to shipwrecked.
Magic are the bridges wrapped in
the autumn twilights.
'Come to my chest
helpless and wandering. '
You can see many forms
to do things.
Thousand ways.
But do not get lost in the sea of doubts.
Whatever you try,
here will always be a beautiful creation,
as the Hudson saves the story of a hero.
Among the huge skyscrapers you can heard
the voices of those who never die.
