New Years Greeting Poem by Nyx C Styx

New Years Greeting

the new year is approaching encroaching
and this year was a visitor
poorly received guest
in the corner of the living room
one second
behind the curtain hiding
the next he's out the door
unnoticed he entered
noticed when he is gone
and so is the passage
of every year
of every record movement
of my life
all things i have received
unwanted
and those things left
wanted
New years greeting
come in
and hide again
till the last few days of
next December
where I may peep behind the curtain
and peek under the carpet
to search for where you've gone
and ask you to stay
a little while longer
the clock may burn
but I am not ready to turn
you over to time
to another leaf
another chapter
I have barely read
only skimmed over
This is a world
of Good Bye's and Hello's
each one alternating
with each synchronized second of time
Nothing will last
save but the time
and He will last
because He does not cease to move
Perhaps I too
shall move
move on
and move forward
and move faster
with steps in sync with each second
perhaps then
I may become
as everlasting as time
