New Eyes Poem by Asma Khan

New Eyes

Come to the edge of the shore
and step slowly upon the astrayed waves

Hold the moonlight in the silver spoon
and scoop the brightness into your soul

Hit the fear with the stone of courage
and breathe the freshness of freedom

Carry the wishes in your heart
and stir them with impeccable sketch

blow the smoke of sorrows away
and inhale the happiness in the air

whisper your name in the ears of rains
and let it fall on your palms like droplets of hopes

tell the gaze not to go wild upon seeing me
and look into the eyes of tomorrow

watch the sun rising from the valleys of dreams
and gather the rays to make your own way

play like a child in the puddles of rain
and kick away all the memories of a hurting past

give away all pains to the merchants of grief
and cherish the newness of your heart's light

dream the unachievable with wide chest and breathe
and touch the existence of your thoughts in a wondrous sight
