New Beginning Poem by Craig Fieldings

New Beginning

What does your crystal ball say?
Look deep, what are my odds?
Gazing in the future with virgin eyes, I can’t help but wonder what my chances are.
Well you know what they say “you only live once”, right?
Who doesn’t like a sure thing?
Yet life comes with “NO” guarantees, “NO” extended warrantees, it’s not even protected under the “lemon law”.
So what are our chances? I ask. Who can we rely on? All we have is our wit, and some friends, and so call friends we met along the way I’ll admit.
I was once told that this is the grocery list to life.
Be skeptical and trusting, be stern and leant, be hot and cold.
Let your word be a binding contract without the ink.
Practice what you preach.
Live life as though it’s your last day.
Work hard play harder.
Be confident in your decision, even though you might be wrong.
Give it your all, or don’t do it at all.
Lastly, love yourself so you’re able to love others.
Look at the reflection in the mirror; see all these images of us. We are more complex then we realize. This is a list of groceries of tools; a happy life is the final destination.
A craftsman of life’s tools is who we are and building roads to our final destination is what we do.
Now breathe that air for the first time and poke that chest out. Always remember, change “Begins” in our mind and everyday is a “new” day, therefore, a “New Beginning” happens everyday.
