(Soldiers who never returned home from war)
Never growing old nor knowing joys of fatherhood
Sharing birthdays with loved ones, enjoying life
Supporting family through years to old age.
With loving wife enhancing, inspiring happiness
Seeing your children grow sturdy and true, blessings
Walking daughter down church aisle to wed
Giving her hand in marriage to the man she loves.
Being proud grandfather, family destiny fulfilled.
Entering old age without regret, embraced by love
With years of precious memories, bright and cherished
Ending life much loved by family and friends.
But you fell a soldier upon a foreign battlefield
Leaving parents weeping, remembered by a poppy,
Grieving for you and grandchildren never to be born.

This is a great poem about the painful life of a soldier who sacrifices everything for his brothers and sisters....appreciated and admired.
