Neurosis Sun Poem by Gagan Ahuja

Neurosis Sun

New are you, let me show you to the old wards
under the sun, when you breathe in fire
all melancholy will lead you here
Here! behind the Church is the Mental Hospital
there are no names of the resident patient
clamour within the four padded walls
and each one is either a poet or an actor
the dreams of their grandeur
melodrama, benign begin and end in detest
that we are now here in the pretence
left in the company of
only the english language
I have grown older, she has been elder
paradise that was lost, shall now never recover

of love is blind
and that is where it reached
pain is my mother
how far can I run from her

no more money, no more thrill
we are all in the evil frill
