original English poem by W H Davies
बिल बार्न्स और पत्नि उसकी नैल;
साथ में उसके होता कोई पुरुष अजनबी;
बैठे वहाँ न देखा उसने पति को अपने;
पाँच हज़ार मील की दूरी पर;
Wah wah kya badiya translation kiya hai aapne, Pray mein dubi hue do premiyon ki amar dastan...Maza Aagaya...... Janab Rajnishji 10+++
Very interesting translation is done here. Remaining in separation for three is painful. But love expects for health and life. Starting from first line to last line perfection is well seen. You have a magical talent of translation.10
It gives me a wonderful feeling to receive appreciative comments from senior poets of your stature. I am deeply touched and inspired by your kind words about my work. Thank you, Kumarmani ji.
Rajnish ji, as always, a beautiful transalation of a very touching poem. Love is strange. When the person is there, one never values - but when gone, pine and cry. Wish i could spend a whole day just reading all your poems and translations.
You have very nicely assessed and evaluated the importance and fragile nature of human relationships. Thanks for the same and also for your kind words about my work.
Like each and every time the translation by you is awesome, tremendous and commendable......loved it :) will read it in its original form.... :)
Thank you, Abhilasha ji. Your comments are so encouraging and inspiring.
By the grace of Almighty God, our society is still free from such things, and all its credit goes to the great women of Indo Pak subcontinent. Rajnish Ji it's a great translation of a thought provoking poem. It's end is a proof that relationship and love of Adam and Eve is divine and immortal. I specially congratulate you for the translation that has captured the soul and spirit of the original poem.
Thank you very much, Akhtar Jawad sahab, for having read this translation and doing a critical evaluation of the same. It is so nice that you have compared the openness reflected in the narrative of the poem with the traditional cultural values, prevailing in this sub-continent, which we are so proud of.
