The End Of Universe - Poem by Rajnish Manga

The End of Universe

The news
Must have reached your door steps
I have also come to know that
The universe is now expanding
At a rate slower than it was about
Three billion years ago.
Scientists have calculated that
At this rate the universe will survive
Another one billion years at the most.
Five Ws are pondering over the related issues.
Till the time a palpable solution to the riddle
Is available to us
Come, let us enjoy life to the fullest
Eat, Drink and Be Merry
Aboard a time machine,
‘Live and let live' should serve as
The cryogenic fuel
During our long voyage.

Ah, but keep hope- a lot can happen in one billion years... like the suffocation death of our beloved planet Earth. But let's toast her and hope she hangs around to the universe's end- - - ]
    Eat, Drink and Be Merry
    Aboard a time machine,
‘Live and let live' should serve as
    The cryogenic fuel
    During our long voyage.

I have to thank you a hundred times for leaving such a wonderful critique on this poem. 'we all expand to max and then relax so will the world collapse neither you nor I will know so enjoy the night once more with the ones you loved' is indeed a fine expression about the philosophy of peaceful co-existence and basking in today's soothing sunshine.

Yes, you are perfectly right in your observation. This has been an eternal riddle that spurred philosophical and scientific studies that led to several theories. But here we have taken a lighter view of the scenario. Thank you, Ramesh ji.

Barry is right, apparently we are going through another inflationary stage, possibly due to dark energy or an antigravity like force. If the additional mass of dark matter is not sufficeint, we will expand for hundreds of billions of years until every atom is so far seperated from the others that the universe will cease to exist for any practical purpose. (Heat death) This fact however, does not effect the profundity of your excellent poem. Congrats, Rajnish (Report) Reply

It is my understanding that the expansion of the universe is actually increasing as is the velocity of expansion. This will mean its eventual death. Unless of course the scientists are wrong on this one which I believe they are. Nevertheless - party on! (Report) Reply
