Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!
E'en though it be a cross
That raiseth me:
Still all my song shall be
Nearer, my God! to Thee,
Nearer to Thee.
Though, like the wanderer,
The sun gone down,
Darkness be over me,
My rest a stone;
Yet in my dreams I'd be
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee.
Then let the way appear
Steps unto heaven;
All that Thou sendest me
In mercy given:
Angels to beckon me
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee.
Then with my waking thoughts
Bright with Thy praise,
Out of my stony griefs
Bethel I'll raise;
So by my woes to be
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee.
Or if on joyful wing,
Cleaving the sky,
Sun, moon, and stars forgot,
Upward I fly:
Still all my song shall be,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee.

Beautiful poetry. A prayer in His praise. Thanks for sharing.
Great poem, so loveliest worded, truly most beautifully said and sung. TOP Marks for the late poetess. Such a loveliest hymn. I like it very much
I am not close to true myself; that's why I am inknown to God; when I wanna come to myself then the greedy love for the earth makes me forget everything. O near of my soul God lives well but still I couldn't discover it thoroughly!
Then let the way appear Steps unto heaven; All that Thou sendest me In mercy given: Angels to beckon me Nearer, my God, to Thee, A prayer from the heart. tony
An outstanding religious song reiterating proximity with almighty God in all circumstances.
I'm far away from the holy worshiping place no; it's wrong God is everywhere wherever you go God is there no far for God it's near; nearer from your heart..........
