Near Yet Far Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Near Yet Far

Near yet far

Two Chinese sat in car
They spoke and had fun
Backgrounds different
Of Taiwan and Shanghai.

They spoke English
Only tongue they did share.

Made me think while puzzled
What happened to cultures?
What about me and you
Calling them: "The Chinese"?
How deep and how aware?
Are we in and outside?

My car is my school
My ocean, sandy beach
And my cave, my desert
As had the messengers
Prophets…

Feel being Mohammad and Moses
Caravan with camels, Mount Sinai
Riders are mass of herds and rebels.
