Nature Of The Beast Poem by Alex Lane

Nature Of The Beast

I awoke for the first time
in floods of wine and wisdom
when gods and beasts would rule
and there was no kingdom

Born to a burning heart
nearly tearing it apart
I emerged here
it is here the end starts

While I lay there inside
destiny came upon me
their judgements were passed
and they chained me down

They held to their pride
they held to their family
but I'll wait for all time
until it breaks every bind

Bite the hand that feeds you
because it tastes so good
it tastes of revenge
it tastes of freedom

What else could I do?
