Nakedness Poem by Sharbaaniranjan Kundu

Nakedness

I have stopped going to poetry reading sessions.
Not that I was ever so keen in reading my poems before a motely crowd of so called poets.
The reason being: my poems often reveal myself.
Are we not clothed most of the time?
When not in clothes are we not shy?
Mind too needs clothing.
We can not reveal our recesses of mind,
which is a kind of jungle.
We want only the fragrances to reach others.
We suppress many thoughts.
We want only the best of me to be revealed
When I am not in my best,
I would rather keep to myself,
may be lick my wounds,
try get back my equanimity, composure.
Sometimes though it is not possible to hide from the society at large.
Thus I decided to go to a poetry reading session after a gap of one year.
And lo, I earned some brownie points for the poem I read.
It was on my hybernation
that I went into.
So, it made me feel, sometimes revealing oneself can also be gratifying!
Oh ho, is sex too is something like this!
