Mystery Man Poem by Amal Jacob

Mystery Man

He mingles with the masses, but he stands
Apart from them, for he can glimpse the truth.
He shows compassion, though he understands
The faults and fears that they would rather soothe.

He listens to their chatter, but he cares
Not for their views, for he has his own voice.
He speaks with eloquence and insight, dares
To share his vision and to make a choice.

He learns the mysteries of the cosmos,
But guards them well, for he is well aware
That some are not yet ready for the loss
Of ignorance and comfort that they share.

But he is not a passive spectator
He is the poet who anticipates
To shape the world by words that captivate.
