My World Is A Cage Poem by Vera Sidhwa

My World Is A Cage

My World is a Cage

My world is a cage,
And I think I could fly away.
I want to fly to another land.
I want to be elsewhere.

These shackles wear me out,
And I need to leave the cage.
It creates a rage,
In me.

But one fine day,
A man's hand unlocked the door,
Of my cage,
And I flew to heights unknown.

You see,
The bird in me,
Freed the man in me,
And I could do anything I wanted.
