My Verses Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

My Verses

O that my verses
Open to myriad paths
The brain
The thought
The hearer
The reader comes
To juncture of
Ever-increasing paths
Now he chooses this
Direction
Then returning back
To
Juncture, next
Direction
And so on
And so in permanent
Pendulum of thought
And theory he wanders
In ever-increasing
Without
The finite horizon to his blinded
Eyes
That is the man I want to
Cultivate
That be the civilization,
The new civilization I want
Help build:
And the sub-conscious must
Be its fount
That ever-continuous ceaseless
Brings forth and begets
In ever-increase
Immortality, the opening of life's
Principles, genetics, physics, all,
Thought and philosophy, economics
Sociology and the social themes
And all the rest of civilization
Encapsulated already in the
Convolutions of the empire-brain
There they are already, we have just
To draw them out, one by one:
Dogma banishes from the slow
Conscious civilization
And in the wide dominions of
The empery of the brain
There lies more than Earth,
And other nay all celestial
Bodies combined:
There lies, there lies,
This be the new civilization.
