My Thoughts Poem by Aric Beers

My Thoughts

Some days my mind wanders here and there
It goes to places I cannot bear
It starts off good with thoughts of food
But as the day goes by my thoughts get crude
I start to think of the things I want
I find it hard to ignore my body's taunt
But my mind moves on to other things
The thoughts are good as my music sings
I think of food and school and life
In that moment there's no mental strife
But as the day unfolds my mood goes sour
As I think of a former hour
My mind dwells on things that were said
And my anger goes to my head
I know the words weren't meant to harm
But it felt like a punch to the arm
I tried to push those thoughts aside
Like a rock ignoring the tide
As the day goes on I think some more
At points my thoughts return to those before
and as the evening comes about
Thoughts will enter in and out
This is a normal day for me
Let's see what my thoughts will be
