My Technique Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

I am not perfect.
I have flaws.
And they are there in public view.

I have long been under a microscope.
By those who pass judgement,
And scrutinize too!

What makes you think I wish to hide,
Anything from you?
I've been raised to expect critique.
That's why I don't charade or masquerade!
Like many choose to do!

I live to be 'free'
Of the displeasures of others.
And that is my technique!
That suits 'me' and I use.
