My Sweet Distraction Poem by Amobi Freeman N

My Sweet Distraction

Her sonorous voice so rings a bell
And melts my heart whenever it freezes.
She's an epitome of beauty
With the most alluring 'figure-eight.'

Her smile is so innocent, and can spin heads round and around.
I barely know her, but I know she lives down town.
She's decent, but oozes a great force of attraction.
There's a name they call her, but I know her as my Sweet Distraction.

I'm the best staff there is in my company.
I finish my assignments well ahead of schedule.
But since she came around, everything has changed;
My co-workers now find me acting so strange

I'm the most challenging competitor an opponent can have.
And I show no mercy while I play the game.
But things eventually fall apart the moment she comes around;
My opponent's fans soon raise their voices as they jump up and down.

Even when I lost, I look on the brighter side.
I take my time and think, while I sit on my couch.
Thinking of that most beautiful face of all time;
The ultimate reason for my lost.

So far, lots of BS have happened,
But unfortunately, I've still not learnt my lessons.
'cause even now that I'm handling a project, I'm thinking...
...thinking about my Sweet Distraction
