My Rise. Poem by Ayesha Tulkubra

My Rise.

Rating: 4.5

My pensive hours conceal my secrets.
They hold the offences and my regrets.

But also capture the world, I assume
Myself emerging from the depths of gloom.

Crept through the crowd calling me, 'detestable', 'loathsome'.
Exasperation burning yet strode through times so gruesome.

Crushed the guilt, elevated my head once again.
Proved my soul worthy when they marked me as insane.

Pulled back my passions from the grave of doom.
Flicked off despair, walked past disgusting fume.

Left behind darkness, stepped in to the glory.
Those who looked scornfully now feel sorry.

I played my part, achieved all on my own.
Why they think I'm arrogant when I frown?

I spent much time still couldn't understand.
The world which solutes the only mightiest on land.
