My Poems Are Not For Sale Poem by Hebert Logerie

My Poems Are Not For Sale

My time is too valuable
My poems are not for sale
It takes a long time to write a poem
I must gather my thoughts, in sum
It takes me a long time to choose a title
My dream is to write at a very high level
And simultaneously stay stylistically simple
Because the best poems are short and sweet
Don't say that I am biased, as a good example
I picked a nice poem written by Howard Simon
A beloved Poet: "I choose the mountain"
If he's still around, I hope to get a fantastic tweet
Momentarily, before I finish writing this poem
And if I don't hear from him in a timely way, blame
The Holy Ghost. Don't criticize me. Robert Frost picked
The road less traveled. He must have been sick
A smart person does not have to build a new road
Every time he has to travel. That would be a heavy load
Where nothing gets accomplished or done
I love a finished road where I can drive at the speed limit
I love climbing the mountain, that's a lot of fun
My poems are not for sale, though my books are on the net
I am elated to say that our Brother Poet Howard Simon
Is alive and well. Let's all shout: "I choose the mountain".
