My Own Private Orchestra Poem by Parker Griffith

My Own Private Orchestra

The wind plays through the trees
Like my own private orchestra
Yet I’m wasting away
Like a rose in a storm.

I can’t just believe this
There’s got to be more here
Time after time I’m stuck
This just isn’t my year

But I’m still here

Am I all alone?
Or is there something I’m missing?
I’m tired of nothing and
Tired of listening
It’s getting harder and harder to breathe,
I hope the world is happy when I leave.
If this planet were living,
I’d be its god damned fatal disease.
More and more I’m just praying for peace.
