My Nightmare Poem by Richard Sandoval

I have heard of a happy ending on fairy tails
But my life is different
I had the best mom she took care of me in hard times
But my nightmare was my dad
He scares me all the talk about him hitting my mother
But my mom would run away to my grandpa’s house he would shelter us
Has made me angry, I want to take my anger out on him
But I am afraid of killing him
His family is crazy, when I was little boy they shot at my grandmas house
And the bullet barely miss me I am glad to be alive
My dad’s cousin tried to run my mom of the road but failed
I am glad for her to be alive
My dad beats his woman,
I love him with all my heart because
He is my dad but I hate that he hits woman
I am afraid to love because I don’t want to be like him
My nightmare is to be like him
But my moms family gives me hope to be a good man
My nightmare is to hurt the people I love
My nightmare is to be like my dad
