My Name Is Life Poem by Mustafa Marconi

My Name Is Life

It’s all in the way she moves
The way she saunters into a room
All eyes are drawn to her
Entranced by the rhythm of her elegant stroll
Every heart hungers to touch her soft and subtle lips
To savor the many delectable flavors
Of her multi dimensional and complex personalities
One by one they gather the courage to approach her
Asking for the opportunity to simply get to know her
Just a little better
Clamoring for clarity of thought and understanding
She replied to the multitudes searching eastward
My name is Life
I am the fruit of our heavenly father
To know me you must first know yourself
For inside of each and every man
Lies life and death
Proceed with caution
And may knowledge be your guide
Turning to her left she whispers
My name is Love
Without me there can be no life
For life without love is void of light
Seek me, embrace me, and cherish me
Here I stand just a stone throw away
From where our paths met
For the very first time
Enter into my kingdom
And may wisdom be your guide
Facing now to the west she proclaims
My name is mercy
I am the protector of the sick and the poor
I am the conscience that drives decent human beings
To do the right thing
I am the voice of the voiceless
And the avenging spirit that stands tall
In support of every man, woman and child
Too exhausted to complain
Take notice as you continue to advance
And may understanding be your guide
Finally she turns south and announces
My name is Peace
I am the rainbow after each and every storm
I am the feeling deep inside of your soul
When everything is just right
When everything is in place
When everything goes accordingly
I am all of the above
I am Peace, I am Mercy, I am love
Open your eyes and seek me
Open your minds and embrace me
Open your hearts and cherish me
I am the gift of our heavenly father
My name is Life
