My Many Mirrors Poem by Laura Portillo

My Many Mirrors

I don't want to be here
so alone
this sensation of shame
this feeling of blame
can't shake away the pain.

Put on a smile
just to hide the truth,
millions of tears,
millions of mirrors,
everything i feel.

The smile fades,
lies fly away,
and my many mirrors break,
shattered and reflecting,
my broken self.

Repair?
who can?
is there someone out there
that even cares?
