My Magic Garden Poem by Lara Katona

My Magic Garden

Rating: 5.0

I have a magic garden,
I love playing in the fresh green grass.
My garden's filled with children playing
And all my friends from class.

Then I looked outside my tree house,
To find running across the grass,
A lovely chestnut squirrel
Heading towards the path.

My friends lying in the hammocks
Were eating fairy cakes
And drinking fruity smoothies
That my Auntie Anne makes.

That's when I saw them.
Some baby tiger cubs
Curled up in a ball
Willing for some hugs.

I climbed down to see them,
And stroke their silky fur,
Then I cuddled one up in my arms,
To receive a loving purr.

My friends came over to hold them.
I thought I was in a dream,
To be holding a baby tiger
Watching their bright eyes gleam.

When I put the cub down,
He sniffed with his nose,
And ran to the flowers
To play with a rose.

Then he rolled over,
And I stroked his tummy.
Soon he purred softly
Like I was his mummy.

When I climbed up to my tree house,
He started to follow me,
And he curled up by my side,
Until it was time for tea.

I love my magic garden,
It's my favourite place to be
Running all around,
With just my friends and me.

i don't understand why J. Nash (in first comment) seems to think you’ve used your imagination in this poem. don't we ALL have tiger cubs in our gardens? ? ? ? ? i also have armadillos. sometimes i take one bowling with me; it knocks down all the bowling pins no matter how poorly i roll it down the alley! Katona? Do you have a dear doctor daddy, and is he also a PH poet? ? I think he is a 'goody', not a 'baddy'. In fact I think....... I KNOW it! Of course I may be..... mistaken, in which case my theory is shaken. But if Stephen K. …. is your Dad, I'm sure you make him VERY glad. bri :) ................i'll send your poem to MyPoemList.
