My Darling Fell

A quiet lingering in the night

My darling fell
And what was dim is now bright

My darling fell
From the top of the stars

And told the tale
Of the little hearts

My darling fell
And from the whispered words

My darling fell
But that was not the worst

My darling fell
For the just was unjust

And in the burning of the stars
There lie something that simply must

My darling fell
And the world stayed calm

My darling fell
But even now I carry on

poet Paul Laurence Dunbar

The coquette rose awakes again
Her lovely self adorning.

The Wind is hiding in the trees,
