My Child Poem by Army Girl

My Child

Rating: 5.0

Sleep now, my angel, rest your eyes
mommy must say her last goodbyes
please don't be sad, please don't cry
mommy will give you wings to fly
if you don't want to say goodbye
mommy will watch and stand by your side
life is not fair, but people understand
mommy not far, I am holding your hand
ill kiss you goodnight, chase memories away
warm your heart on a winter day
be the sun on your skin, wind in your hair
I'm not too far, I'm standing right there
my time spent with you is a pure treasure
of infinite leagues, nor ruler, no measure
mommy must go its time to fly
take a deep breath and let out a sigh
live out your life and bid me farewell
find in your heart the strength to excel
your future is bright, you'll go far my dear
don't get sad, don't worry
I'm here
