My Child Poem by Jenny Williams

My Child

he crawled into
her open arms
and laid his head
upon her heart
enfolding him with
her love
she kissed his cheek
and softly hummed
a tender lullaby

he clung to her
until slowly
the trembling
began to cease
and rocking him
so lovingly
he drifted off
to peaceful sleep
