My Brother's Keeper Poem by Barbara Attaway

My Brother's Keeper

Rating: 5.0

He listened for The Master
Voicing not his woes
His thoughts were sombre, pensive
'I know my time is close.'
Eyes looked within...
Then...
'Love...I had more in life than most.'

When The Master summoned
He breathed deeply...and slipped away
Though I, for one
Begged him, 'Please, do not obey! '

To once more be my brother's keeper
I'd give anything today
