My Addiction Poem by Jacqueline Czel

My Addiction

Your love, is a
powerful drug
luring me in,
for it is a pill,
a white line,
the needle,
an infusion,
a bright liquid,
some thing more
than a chemical
scent or effects
and illusions
for you are
my delirium,
tripping shadows
dreamy swirls,
mind expanding
delusions
or perhaps
deliverance
from evil,
and a reason to
push at my flesh,
ideas, beliefs
and against
puritanical rules
of the world
because
I am an addict,
addicted to you,
and no other
substance
will ever do
my sugar
and candy,
my rock
and thrill
my spoon for
crystalline stone
wherever you,
my elixir lay
I am high,
a strung out
junkie at home.
