Mum Poem by Lynda Bracegirdle

Mum

Rating: 5.0

As years pass by - I remember,
Birthdays with you that we shared,
The gifts and the flowers we could give you,
Letting you know that we cared.

We are sad you are no longer with us,
But we celebrate your special day,
Sad that the Love we have for you,
Must be shown in a different way.

Cards, gifts & flowers we bring now,
Are left here, at your Resting Place,
With Love in our Hearts and with Memories,
That we know, time can never erase.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I am not sure I would call what I do poetry - I make up rhymes to go on cards I create or letters I send. I am sure composition, punctucation etc., leave much to be desired. In my limited way, I just say what I feel.

The rhyme 'Mum' was one I did on the occasion of Mum's birthday afer she died.. It was decorated with roses and laminated so it could be left at the grave with our flowers & memorial gifts.

Thank You Valerie, your comment is much appreciated. I have never put my efforts on line before. Only family & friends ever say anything - and I assume they are just being polite..!
