Move Over T S Eliot Poem by Mike Green

Move Over T S Eliot

I often wish that I could write
Poetry that is not trite
That inspires the reader to reflect
And intelligently introspect
On thoughts and sentiments profound
Such as, what makes the world go round
And other conundrums of our time
In words that scan not strain to rhyme
I try and try with all my might
But I just cannot get it right
And then I think, O what the hell
I'll go on writing doggerel
