Dvt Poem by Mike Green

Dvt

My great saphenous vein
Is more than a drain
On my fragile condition
It begins to irk
And refuses to work
Baffling my physician

It decides to rebel
My leg starts to swell
Causing a miserable pain
So I take lots of pills
To remedy my ills
And hope it won't happen again

But just when I feel fine
This blood vessel of mine
Once more starts to rebel
The blood stops flowing
And I've no way of knowing
When again I'll begin to feel well

Yes it's a curse
Though it could be even worse
I feel that it's time for a break
From this renegade vein
That causes such pain
In producing a thrombotic ache
