Mother And Wife Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Mother And Wife

Rating: 5.0

Mother and wife

Had beer with friend
He went and is over;
Now think of my mother
The mentor, trainer,
Caretaker and teacher.

Fed and washed and pampered,
All day-night was awake and alert
Word by word, then steps
Taught to talk, walk forward,
Carried me to school,
Went after books, notebooks
And in time of exams
Came, covered her son since
Fell asleep, dead-tired
Cause I read in my bed…

Got over the teen years
Had told me about men
Strong, giving and reliable.

Came the day when she said:
"Must find you a match and
Let you go like pigeons…"

Danced and shined in her eyes,
Traces of a course on breasts:
"Replaced will be milk-ones
With breasts of young girl…"

When married, she advised:
"With her must be tender;
Wives are like flowers…"

My wife was pregnant
And my Mom became hers…

Approaching our child's birth
Felt like bird, featherless;
Once again came mother:
"All come of same tunnel! "
