More Than Not Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

More Than Not

More than not,
Are untying from knots.
And have stopped defending,
Reasons to be caught up...
In the hustle and jive.

More than not,
Are beginning to realize...
Criticizing others,
Only puts the spotlight...
Illuminating their dysfunctional lives.

More than not,
Have found diminished...
Their pleasure in pretense.
Or senseless attempts,
Trying to make...
Those short lived first impressions.

More everyday are awakening to discover,
Balancing between sanity and craze...
Is their choice to perform.
With a hope to gain approval.
Regardless on which side they may fall.

And more than not,
Are doing their best to live life.
Unconcerned and caring less,
Who is defending to protect themselves...
From truth and the reality of it.
To either deny, avoid or argue!

More than not,
Are doing what makes them happy.
With this to understand,
More than not,
Have yet to find that...
To feel blessed enough to try!

Balancing between sanity and craze... Is their choice to perform. Reminds me of a dialogue from The Dark night where Joker says that insanity works like gravity, all it takes is a little push. Yes we all try to keep balance between sanity and insanity. well written.
