More Than A Friend Poem by Danielle Floyd

More Than A Friend

I cannot bear to think of you as
only a friend
The nights we shared still linger
in my mind
Each time i look into your eyes
my wounds are reopened for all to see
Only you do not see my pain
You refuse to see the tremble
of my hand
as i reach out to you
The tears shimmering in my eyes
you ignore
As I fight for control
Control of my emotions
Control of my life
Control to say 'I love you'
Then turn away with good-bye

I must pull away
if only to be alone
To follow another path
if only to run away from our past
If you truly love me...
Then come get me
But if you lead me back
Please make it last

Woa! Pretty powerful stuff there missy! You say it like it is, and know what you want. Nicely put, your writing is genuine and real. You tell of deep feelings and write them out very, very well. Good job! DC
