Money Can'T Buy Family Poem by Susan Wall

Money Can'T Buy Family

I knew a lady many years ago
she had the American dream.
All the ladies who knew her was
green with envy more then she knew.
Many times she bragged how her
money would give her all the power
she needed, to do what she wanted.
Time flew by
and so did all the things
that money could not buy.
Her one child left and never told her why
her husband ran off and never said good bye.
I would go home and cry, always asking why.
My life was hard cleaning
her beautiful five bedroom home.
Now my time has come
that maid that was looked down upon.
I can look at her fondly and say
(I have found that life you lost.)
When you put others down
it comes with a cost.
We all may not be able to live
as high as that one that I am speaking of.
Never the less please, do not look down
on those who can’t live as you or I.
You never know
what tomorrow will bring hope and pray
it will bring gardens of, love and prosperity.
This is the life we all want
no one wants to live in poverty.
